Excellent Driving Advice

Here is an excellent driving tip from Brian Davis, ALDOT engineer (Alabama Department of Transportation)

…..ALDOT has been pre-treating interstates since yesterday and continues to try to keep roads clear.

…..IF YOU MUST be on the highways, drive on the OUTSIDE LANES — NOT on all three lanes, left lanes, etc… The rule of thumb is OUTSIDE lane, maintain a reasonable speed, and keep a decent distance between you and cars ahead.

…..CRAWL up and down the exit ramps. A lot of people hit the bottom of the ramps too fast and can’t merge or stop in time.

…..IF POSSIBLE, use STATE routes that don’t have elevated bridges
