An Upset Grandfather

Thanks to Larry Mason for reminding us that Grandfather Mountain, N.C., had a wind gust to 77 mph in the last 24 hours.

Here are some wintry reports from the mountains of East Tennessee and Western North Carolina

GRANDFATHER MOUNTAIN
Low this morning 15 with 1/2 inch of snow. Gusts as high as 77 mph last 24 hours.

MT. MITCHELL, N.C.
Low of 11 with one inch of snow

MT. LECONTE/GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS
Low of 10. They have three inches of snow on the ground
I know a lot of people who would like to be there

NEWFOUND GAP
Low of 12 with two inches of snow.
