Tornado Warning in Mississippi

The NWS Jackson has issued a tornado warning for counties just west of Starkville in Mississippi.

This is about 75 miles west northwest of Carrollton in Pickens County. The storm is moving east southeast at 55 mph.

Tops of the storm are approaching 55,000 feet. The VIL is nearly maxed out indicating large hail. Hail algorithsm are showing there could be 2.25 inch hail, which is approaching tennis ball size.

The storm will come dangerously close to Starkville, perhaps passing just west of the town and campus.
