Only the 00 UTC NAM is in yet…but the trend has continued toward bringing the precip farther west into Alabama tomorrow! We’ll have to wait and see if the GFS, UKMET, and Canadian are in agreement, but the NAM shows precip developing over central Alabama tomorrow, with 0.1″ liquid equivalent, and the combination of upward motion and evaporation bringing the 850 mb temp down to -3 C (it has to be 0 C for snow.) It also shows the 1000-500 mb thickness as 539, with anything below 542 cold enough for snow. The NAM’s only snow-stopper is that it shows surface temps near 40. But, it also thinks it should be 44 in BHM right now. It was 37 when I got back from looking at Christmas lights a little while ago.

For those who are interested, another post before bed tonight, once other models are in.
