Heads Up Lamar…Extreme Northern Pickens

A very dangerous storm near Starkville, Mississippi. Loudspeakers on campus are urging people to take cover in place. It is visible on the MSU Meteorology Skycam.

This storm will pass near West Point and Columbus heading toward Lamar County, Alabama. If it turns a little right, it could clip extreme NW Pickens near Ethelsville and Macedonia. It should reach the western border of Alabama between 1:00 and 1:15 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm warning continues for Greene and southern Tuscaloosa Counties until 1:30 p.m. This storm is south of Moundville moving toward Coaling and Vance.

The Marengo County warning has been downgraded to a severe thunderstorm warning. It goes until 1:45. The storm is near Sweet Water moving toward Thomasville.

Dallas, Hale and Perry Counties also under this severe thunderstorm warning until 145 p.m.
