BHM Snowless Streak

| January 19, 2008 @ 9:08 pm | 39 Replies

Our streak of days without measurable snow at the Birmingham Airport moves inexorably onward after another missed opportunity with our Gulf low system. Only a trace was measured at the Airport today according to the National Weather Service.

It now stands at 2,913 days since our last measurable snow on January 28, 2000.

The other top four streaks are

2/1/1951 to 3/6/1957: 2,225 days
2/13/1905 to 12/18/1909: 1,769 days
2/13/1971 to 12/1/1974: 1,387 days
1/5/1919 to 2/15/1922: 1,137 days

Will there be another chance to break the streak late in the week? It looks doubtfull now…but it is not off the table for sure.
