COOL MORNING: We won’t have many more of these left before the long, hot summer sets in. Some 5:00 a.m. temperatures include 51 at Haleyville, 52 at Fayette, and 54 at Coker and Muscle Shoals. Today looks excellent with a sunny sky, low humidity, and a high in the mid 80s.

HEATING UP: Our weather stays dry tomorrow and Friday with a pronounced warming trend. Look for lots of sunshine both days with a high around 90 tomorrow, followed by low 90s Friday.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND: Hot and dry weather is the story with sunny days, fair nights, and highs in the 90 to 94 degree range Saturday through Monday. Humidity levels will creep up, giving the weekend a real summer feel.

The upper high responsible for the hot, dry weather will break down a bit next week, and allow the return of scattered, mostly afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms by Tuesday and Wednesday.

SEC BASEBALL WEATHER: Somebody must be living right… looks like the entire SEC tournament will be played at Regions Park in Hoover without a single drop of rain between now and Sunday. The heat will be the main issue with low 90s likely at the site over the weekend.

GULF COAST WEATHER: More great weather for the Alabama and Northwest Florida Gulf Coast, with sunny days and fair nights through the weekend. A few isolated showers could show up by Sunday and Monday, but nothing widespread. Highs will be in the 80s, and sea water temperatures remain in the low 80s from Panama City west to Gulf Shores.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.
