Strong Non-Severe Storms

Strong storms continue to move east rapidly. Heavy thunderstorm being reported currently in Tuscaloosa and now the front edge of the line is approaching western sections of Jefferson County. Significant weather advisories has been issued for the counties along the line. Gusty winds and hail are the main threat. Storms could briefly become severe as they move across the state. Downtown Birmingham can still expect the storms around or just after 1 PM.

I-20/59 west could be rough briefly and I-65 will soon experience rough weather as storms move into the Birmingham metro. Wind gust of 45 mph in Tuscaloosa and pea size hail being reported. The storms will be intense for several minutes and then rapidly move on by.
