Well, our Guest WeatherBrain tonight is not really a guest. It’s our very own Nate Johnson who is going to provide a retrospective look of the recent AMS Broadcasters Weather Warnings and Communications session.

Aubrey Urbanowicz, MeteorologistJoining us tonight as our Guest Panelist is Aubrey Urbanowicz. She was the Guest WeatherBrain on Show #379 in April. Aubrey is the 5 pm meteorologist at the ABC affiliate in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, WHSV-TV Channel 3 in Harrisonburg, VA. She got a big response from the audience, so we’re bringing her back as a GP.

Aubrey Urbanowicz is the 5 pm Meteorologist at the ABC/Fox/CBS affiliate in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, WHSV-TV Channel 3 in Harrisonburg, VA. Aubrey is from Wallingford, CT, and she attended East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. She received a Bachelors of Geosciences degree from Mississippi State with a concentration in Broadcast Meteorology. She worked for Chili’s for nearly 12 years where she had the opportunity to travel the country training employees and opening restaurants. It was after being caught in all four Florida hurricanes of 2004 and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita of 2005 working for Chili’s that Aubrey found her calling into weather. She pursued her degree while living in Johnson City, TN, and eventually interned at WJHL in the Tri-Cities.

Aubrey has been with WHSV for nearly 3 years now. She produces and presents her own “Weather Questions with Aubrey” segment on Monday night at 10pm on the Valley’s Fox in the Shenandoah Valley. Aubrey is a member of the National Weather Association and she is currently working on her National Weather Association Broadcasters Seal.

In her spare time Aubrey loves to hike, and explore Virginia’s wineries, and visit the local historical sights. The Shenandoah National Park is one of her favorite spots to visit. Yes it’s true, she was named after the Bread song, “And Aubrey was Her Name”.

WeatherBrains 101: Over the last couple of weeks, the term ‘TUTT’ has appeared in several weather discussions, so since the topic was first presented in September, 2007, it seemed appropriate to rehash this one due to the current relevance.

TWIWH: Bill Murray looks back at the week of July 22nd.
