There are some storms in the mix already, and more will be developing.

Storms are heaviest across northern Jefferson County, with lots of lightning around Warrior, Kimberly, Hayden and Corner. These extend into Cullman and Blount Counties as well. Storms are heavy near Hanceville and Locust Fork as well.

Increased sunshine is working on the moist airmass to trigger the increase in showers and storms. The storms that persist could become strong with the potential for damaging winds, thanks to some drier air aloft today.
