Storms across Central Alabama have died down this afternoon, but there is still a healthy one over East Alabama and some in the Birmingham area.

Currently there a few light to moderate showers over Franklin and Marion Counties in Northwest Alabama.

There are light showers over northern Tuscaloosa County, and heavier ones over Walker and Jefferson Counties. It is raining heavily in the Tarrant, Crestwood and Roebuck areas of eastern Birmingham. There is another west of Leeds.

Over East Alabama, you will find scattered mostly light to moderate showers down US-280 all the way to Auburn. The biggest storm right now is over southeastern Calhoun and Cleburne Counties between Anniston and Heflin. This storm is producing lots of lightning as well as heavy rain. One to two inches of rain has fallen in an hour with this cell.
