Early Afternoon Update

| October 19, 2013 @ 1:13 pm

The rain is pushing out of Central Alabama this afternoon and most locations are beginning to dry out. Most of the rain is well south and east of the Birmingham area and is along the Interstate 85 corridor from Montgomery to Auburn to Atlanta. The rain will continue to move off to the east southeast and most of our counties will see the rain ending over the next few hours. The rain is over for Tuscaloosa and Talladega so the football game and any race activities should have no further issues with the rain.

Where the rain has ended, there is a bit of clearing. The sun is peeking out across central and western portions of the state. Several locations are seeing mostly sunny skies, while most are only seeing partly sunny. The thicker clouds are in southeastern areas of the state where the rain is still falling. There are some additional clouds to our west over Mississippi and those will still have to work through the next several hours. The main clearing is back across Arkansas and Missouri, and those clear skies will be what we all see for our Sunday.
