A Cold Rain Continues

| February 26, 2014 @ 3:37 am

A cold and soaking rain continues to fall across much of Alabama this morning. Still seeing reports of most areas receiving all rain. There could be a few sleet pellets mixing in with the rain across the northern counties. One report of such a mix came from one of our Skywatchers.

At 2:24 AM, Vic Bell reported a temperatures of 38 degrees with a light to moderate rain/sleet mix at his home in Black Creek in Etowah County.

For the rest of the area, we will continue to see several hours of rain and temps will be falling. Freezing temps remain just to the north of the area and those will be creeping south. Still waiting to see if we can get a switchover to a wintry mix the next few hours. We are seeing a bit of a mix back across north-central portions of Mississippi and these are showing on the radar image in the purple and blue shades near Interstate 55.
