Just before 1 p.m., the greatest concentrations of storms were over Northeast Alabama from northern St. Clair through Etowah down into Clay County. Other concentrations were over western Shelby County near Helena, southeastern Tuscaloosa County and over Greene/Hale Counties. Others were in the Montgomery area.

They will push southeast through the afternoon and some of them will be quite strong with deadly lightning, torrential rains and gusty winds. Some could briefly become severe.

Temperatures have backed off a bit in areas where clouds and showers have developed.

Showers and storms should be a bit more scarce Monday and Tuesday. Heat advisories continue through at least Monday evening.
