VERY PLEASANT AFTERNOON: We are enjoying a mostly sunny across Alabama this afternoon; the sun is filtered by bands of high, thin cirrus clouds. Temperatures are in the 57-67 degree range, a little above average for the first of February. Tonight will be clear with a low between 33 and 43 degrees.
COOLER: The clipper that brought some light rain to Alabama last night has moved on to the east, and today will be mostly sunny and cooler with highs in the 50s. Dry weather continues through Friday with sunny days and fair nights… the high tomorrow will be in the 55-65 degree range, and then we expect 60s statewide Friday.
DRY TODAY: With a partly to mostly sunny sky, we project a high in the 60-65 degree range for much of Alabama this afternoon. A very pleasant winter day. Clouds will move in tonight ahead of a dynamic storm system.
QUIET THROUGH TOMORROW: Alabama’s weather will be dry today and tomorrow with a partly to mostly sunny sky; the high today will range from the upper 40s across North Alabama to the low to mid 50s over the southern counties of the state. Tomorrow will be warmer, with 50s for North Alabama, and 60s to the south.
COOL JANUARY DAY: Temperatures across Alabama range from the low 40s across the Tennessee Valley to the upper 50s near the Gulf Coast. Clouds that hovered over North Alabama earlier today are dissipating, and tonight will be mostly fair and cold with a low in the 25-35 degree range for most communities.
COOL JANUARY DAY: The sky is mostly sunny across Alabama this afternoon with temperatures ranging from the upper 40s across the northern counties to the upper 50s near the Gulf Coast. Clouds will increase tonight; most places will see a low in the 28-34 degree range.
DRY: Most of Alabama is enjoying a sunny afternoon; the exception is the Tennessee Valley of North Alabama where clouds linger at midday. We have a big thermal contrast across the state… temperatures at midday range from near 40 around the Tennessee state line, to the mid 60s along the Gulf Coast. Tonight will be clear and cold with sub-freezing temperatures for most communities.
HAPPY NEW YEAR: On this first day of the New Year, we have some clouds in place early this morning across Alabama, but the sky becomes partly to mostly sunny today with a high in the mid to upper 40s for the northern half of the state. South Alabama will see low to mid 50s this afternoon.
HIGH CLOUDS: We have a veil of high cirrus clouds over Alabama this afternoon, but the low levels remain dry. Temperatures are in the 50s over the northern 2/3 of the state, with low to mid 60s to the south. Dry weather continues tonight; most places will stay above freezing with the high clouds in place.
ANOTHER COLD START: Temperatures are below freezing again this morning over the northern 2/3 of Alabama, but warmer days are ahead for the Deep South. Look for a high in the 50s today over the northern half of the state, with low to mid 60s to the south.
PLEASANT AFTERNOON: With sunshine through high, thin cirrus clouds we have temperatures mostly in the 50s across Alabama this afternoon… Mobile has managed to reach 60 degrees. Tonight will be mostly fair with another freeze for the northern half of the state.
WARMER BY THE WEEKEND: Much of Alabama is below freezing again this morning with temperatures mostly in the 25-35 degree range. Mobile is the exception where they are in the low 40s. The sky will be partly to mostly sunny today with a high in the 50s. The average high for Birmingham on December 20 is 56.
VERY NICE DECEMBER DAY: Temperatures are in the 60s across Alabama this afternoon with a good supply of sunshine. Clouds will move in tonight as a surface low forms in the Gulf of Mexico.
STILL DRY TODAY: Alabama’s weather won’t change much today… with a partly to mostly sunny sky we expect a high in the 60-65 degree range this afternoon. Clouds will increase tonight as a deep surface low forms in the northern Gulf of Mexico.
