A FEW SHOWERS: Moisture levels will increase a bit across Alabama today with some Atlantic moisture moving in from the east. A few isolated showers will likely develop this afternoon and early tonight; odds of any one spot seeing rain are only in the 10-20 percent range.
RADAR CHECK: We have a few widely scattered showers and thunderstorms over the southern 2/3 of Alabama this afternoon; they are moving southward and most of them will dissipate after sunset. Otherwise we have a mix of sun and clouds today with temperatures ranging from the 80s over the northern counties to the upper 90s around Mobile and Dothan.
OCEAN OF HUMIDITY: Deep tropical moisture will remain in place across Alabama through the weekend, and scattered showers and thunderstorms will form again later today and early tonight.
RADAR CHECK: Rain is relatively widespread over the northern third of Alabama this afternoon… north of I-20… where temperatures are only in the 70s and low 80s. South Alabama has seen some sun today, but showers and storms are beginning to increase there at mid-afternoon.
UNSETTLED PATTERN CONTINUES: With an upper trough axis just to the west and deep tropical moisture in place, we expect periods of rain and a few thunderstorms across Alabama today with a generally cloudy sky. Highs will be in the 79-84 degree range for most places, well below average for late July in Alabama.
RADAR CHECK: Large areas of mostly light rain are moving across Alabama early this morning as an upper trough persists just to the west. Expect occasional rain today along with a few thunderstorms; temperatures will hover in the upper 70s and low 80s most of the day with a cloudy sky.
RADAR CHECK: Numerous showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain, continue across Alabama this afternoon. We will maintain a good chance of occasional showers and storms tonight as a deep layer of tropical moisture remains in places.

Of course, there will be nice breaks in the rain, and the sun will be out at times, but occasional rain is likely. Heavier storms will come from noon to midnight
