As of 12:26 pm, if you are located south of the I-59 corridor, you are most likely enjoying mainly sunny skies. But for those along and north of the I-59 corridor, you will notice that some thin cloud cover has started moving over your neck of the woods.
A dry weekend and start to the work week with warming temperatures, but showers and storms move in by Hump Day. Watching the potential of a clipper moving in here on Friday that will bring much colder temperatures and some precipitation with it.
BLUE SKY: As advertised, we have sunshine in full supply across Alabama this afternoon as a very dry airmass has pushed into the state. Tonight will be clear and cold with lows in the 25-35 degree range early tomorrow morning.
Dry air is back with a sunny sky, but despite the sunshine it remains cold with highs in the 40s, with breezy northerly wind at times. Tonight will be clear and cold with lows well down in the 20s.
RADAR CHECK: Rain lingers across parts of Southeast Alabama early this morning, but it will be ending soon and all of the state will enjoy a mostly sunny day. We note temperatures have dropped below freezing over some of the northern counties, and some patchy “black ice” is possible there where water is still standing. Look for highs in the 40s across North Alabama today, with 50s to the south.
RADAR CHECK: As advertised, we have a cold, soaking rain falling over the northern 2/3 of Alabama this afternoon with temperatures mostly in the 40s. A few showers and storms are possible for the far southern counties of the state this evening, but rain amounts there will be much lighter. All of the rain will end tonight as dry air begins to push into the state.
