An Update To Central Alabama’s Weather Situation at 3:10 AM

| January 21, 2017 @ 3:18 am

For much of Central Alabama at this time, conditions are still rather quiet. Most locations are still dry at this point, but activity is picking up in the southwestern locations in the area. Currently, there are no warnings or our area, but several tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings are up in southern Mississippi. All of the storms are moving to the northeast at 40 MPH. Plenty of lightning, along with heavy rainfall can be expected within locations such as Selma, Marion, Uniontown and Demopolis shortly.

Latest from the Storm Prediction Center has a tornado watch lined up to be issued for much of the southern 2/3rds of the state, due to the risk for a few tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail. We will keep you posted throughout the morning.
