Sun-Filled Saturday, Clouds Return Tomorrow

| March 4, 2017 @ 2:01 pm

A gorgeous day of weather is ongoing across the state of Alabama, thanks to an area of high pressure that is in control of the weather of the Southeast and is actually center over South Carolina this afternoon.

We are all seeing tons of sun, with only a few of those upper-level cirrus clouds, but those are having no impact on our weather.

After the chilly start this morning, all the sunshine has allowed our temperatures to climb into the lower and mid 60s for most us. There are some upper 50s holding on in those cooler valleys of Northeast Alabama.

NOT AS COLD TONIGHT: Our winds will shift around from the southeast and that is going to allow for a slightly warmer night, but still chilly. Expect mainly clear conditions with lows in the lower 40s for most of Alabama.

LESS SUN FOR SUNDAY: In the upper-levels, a shortwave trough will be moving across the state tomorrow. This will allow for more clouds tomorrow, and actually we should see more clouds than sun. We can see the clouds to our southwest and these are going to be heading our direction, arriving tomorrow, and will greet you heading out the door tomorrow.

Moisture levels at the surface will remain rather low, so we are not expecting rain, but a few sprinkles will be possible. Temperatures tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 60s.
