Storms Weaker…No Significant Severe Reports

| December 11, 2010 @ 6:55 pm | 1 Reply

Our line of thunderstorms is into Northwest Alabama from west of Russellville to west of Hamitlon. It then extends back into Mississippi near Aberdeen then to Starkville, Brandon and to just east of Natchez.

It is pushing east at 35 mph.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect for parts of South Central Mississippi, including the area around Brandon and Forest as well as Woodville and Liberty.

Some lightning was reported to the west of Hamilton on lightning detection systems, but it has decreased significantly.

Moderate rain now covers much of Marion, Winston, Lamar, Fayette and Pickens Counties.

The line of storms will still have the potential to bring some of the strong winds aloft to the surface as it pushes eastward.

Some reports from Mississippi..

…A top was blown off a trailer home in Anguilla in the Mississippi Delta
…Four trees down in Yazoo City, including one on a car…no injuries…
…Nickel sized hail was reported in Madison and Washington Counties

So far…no reports of tornadoes and if we get through with just scattered reports of light wind damage, we will be happy.
