Tornado Watch Until 3 PM Extended Southeast

The Tornado Watch for Central Alabama until 3 PM has been extended further east and not includes the cities of Montgomery, Auburn, Phenix City, Alexander City, Opelika, Troy, Tuskegee, Wetumpka and Clio.

Ten Alabama counties were added to this watch they are: Montgomery, Elmore, Tallapoosa, Macon, Russell, Lee, Chambers, Pike, Barbour and Bullock.

The threat for severe weather still exist across southern sections of Alabama. Strong showers and thunderstorms continue across the state, Some thunderstorms are expected to reach severe limits as we head into the early afternoon. The greatest threat from these storm will be damaging winds, but isolated tornadoes are possible.
