A Soaker of a Day

| March 11, 2013 @ 8:39 am

Heavy rains have finally made into the Birmingham Metro where many locations are reporting moderate to heavy rain. The rain will last for several hours as a slow moving front continues to push east today. We are not expecting any severe weather, but there could be some flooding issues developing as we head throughout the day. Already, Lamar and Marion Counties are under an Areal Flood Advisory until 11 AM CDT and we could see similar situations across the state. Some areas could see one to two inches of rain today.

A large moisture plume continues to bring showers and a few rumbles of thunder into the state. The most intense rain should be out of here by early afternoon, with a few lingering showers hanging around. Today should be the  only wet day of the week as sunshine will be abundant everyday this week.
