Significant damage has been reported in Atmore in South Alabama’s Escambia County from a severe storm that moved through just after 8 a.m.

A tornado warning was in effect and radar indicated a tornado in the area.

These same storms are in the Ozark area now. A tornado warning is in effect for Dale and Coffee Counties.

The back edge of the rain area extends now from Valley to Tuskegee to Greenville and Monroeville then into the Mobile area.

Flooding was reported on the University of South Alabama campus.

Across our area, visible satellite photos show some breaks in the clouds west of I-59.
