Slow Warming Trend Ahead

COLD OCTOBER MORNING: Here are some temperatures across Alabama as the sun rises…

Expect a bright sunny sky again today with a high in the upper 60s.
TOMORROW THROUGH THE WEEKEND: Sunny days, clear nights, and a slow warming trend. Expect a high in the low 70s tomorrow, mid 70s Saturday, and around 80 degrees Sunday afternoon.
FOOTBALL WEATHER: Clear and cool conditions for high school games tomorrow night; temperatures will fall from the upper 60s at kickoff into the upper 50s by the fourth quarter.
Saturday is a big football day in Birmingham with the Magic City Classic at Legion Field, featuring Alabama State and Alabama A&M. The sky will be sun filled (2:30p CT kickoff); 75 degrees at kickoff, with mid 60s by the final whistle. There is no risk of rain.
Auburn will host South Carolina Saturday evening at Jordan-Hare Stadium (6:30p CT kickoff)… the sky will be clear, with temperatures falling from around 70 degrees at kickoff into the upper 50s by the fourth quarter.
Alabama is on the road; they take on the Tennessee Volunteers Saturday evening in Knoxville (6:30p CT kickoff). The sky will be clear with a kickoff temperature near 65 degrees, falling into the 50s by the second half.
UAB plays on the road at Arkansas in Fayetteville Saturday (11:00a CT kickoff)… expect a sunny sky with a kickoff temperature near 77 degrees, rising into the low 80s by halftime. No risk of rain.\
NEXT WEEK: A cold front will approach Alabama at mid-week, and we will introduce the risk of a few showers Wednesday or Thursday, but for now it doesn’t look like a big rain event. And, at the end of the week (and the end of the month) on Friday, the 00Z GFS brings some really chilly air down into Alabama as a deep upper trough sets up over the eastern third of the nation. TROPICS: Tropical Depression Nine fizzled out last night over the Yucatan Peninsula, and the rest of the Atlantic basin is quiet this morning.
AT THE BEACH: Sunny days, clear nights through the weekend from Panama City west to Gulf Shores. Highs 75-80, lows mostly in the 50s and 60s.
