Severe Thunderstorm Warning – Chambers Co.

| April 10, 2015 @ 3:26 pm

Screen Shot 2015-04-10 at 3.36.56 PMThis storm is near the eastern border of Alabama approaching La Fayette heading East.   It will arrive in Lannet and Valley AL around 4:15.  Across south central Alabama, a wide range of scattered but severe thunderstorms are making their way across the state ahead of a cold front.

There’s a developing low pressure system near Montgomery.  Instabilities are running as high as 2,000 to 2,500 j/Kg, and there a decent amount of bulk sheer (30/40 kts),  so the storms are able to organize. However, there is no low-level helicity, thus indicating a low chance of tornadoes.
