Storms Around Birmingham

A few storms have developed in the Birmingham area over the past 90 minutes.

One rapidly developing one is just northeast of the Birmingham Airport. It grew to over 40,000 feet tall in just a matter of minutes.

Other strong ones are along the Jefferson/Walker County line south of Dora. They have been producing up to one inch of rainfall per hour.

Another strong storm is west of Maylene in northwestern Shelby County.

Storms are growing west of Rockford in Coosa County and near Chelsea in Shelby County.

Be ready for brief heavy rain, gusty winds and deadly lightning.

Everything is moving very slowly to the east.
