Long Dry Spell Ahead

| October 13, 2015 @ 3:09 pm

COOL MORNINGS, WARM AFTERNOONS: We are in that time of the year when you need a light jacket during the early morning hours, but by mid-afternoon it feels more like summer. That is the case today; temperatures have warmed into the low to mid 80s across North/Central Alabama…

Temperatures-6

The big range from morning low to afternoon high means the air is very dry; it heats and cools very efficiently. Expect the same kind of weather through Friday with sunny days and fair nights. Most spots will drop into the upper 40s early tomorrow.

WEEKEND COOL DOWN: We still expect the coolest air so far this season by Saturday; the high will drop to near 70, and temperatures will be well down in the 40s early Sunday. Some of the colder spots across North Alabama will reach the upper 30s. The air will be dry, and we expect a good supply of sunshine both days.

NEXT WEEK: Dry, pleasant weather continues for the first half of the week; still seeing evidence of a decent rain event late in the week; see the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
