| October 30, 2015 @ 6:29 am

CHILLY MORNING: Temperatures are in the 40s in most places this morning across North/Central Alabama, with 30s for colder pockets…

Temperatures

Today will be a glorious autumn day, with a sunny sky, low humidity, and a high around 70. Clouds begin to return late tonight.

OUR WEEKEND: Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy, and rain will arrive by mid to late afternoon. The rain moves into West Alabama around 3:00, reaching Birmingham around 5:00, and Anniston/Gadsden by 7:00. Understand these times are just a guideline, and could change.

Periods of rain and a few thunderstorms are likely tomorrow night and Sunday, and it promises to be a good soaker. The GFS hints some spots will see 3-4 inches of rain…

On the positive side, this setup does not favor severe weather in our state.

NEXT WEEK: The rain tapers off Monday morning, with gradual clearing late in the day. Then, the rest of the week will be mild and dry thanks to an upper high over the Deep South. Afternoon temperatures will rise into the upper 70s, about ten degrees above average for early November in Alabama. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Perfect weather for the high school football games across the state tonight; fair and cool with temperatures falling into the 50s.

For tomorrow’s Magic City Classic in Birmingham… the sky will be cloudy when Alabama State and Alabama A&M kickoff at Legion Field (2:30p CT), temperatures will fall from the 70 degrees at kickoff into the upper 60s by the fourth quarter. It still looks like rain could move into Birmingham during the game; best chance of rain will come during the second half. Temperatures will fall from near 70 at kickoff into the 60s by the final whistle.

Auburn hosts Ole Miss tomorrow at Jordan-Hare Stadium at 11:00; at this point the weather looks cloudy, but the chance of rain will hold off after the final whistle. Temperatures will rise from the upper 60s at kickoff to near 70 degrees. by the fourth quarter.

Alabama takes the weekend off.
