As we have hit the midday hour, we have a mix of sun and clouds across Central Alabama, with a few scattered showers falling over the eastern locations of the area.

* At 406 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near New Market, or 11 miles northeast of Moores Mill, moving east at 20 mph.
RADAR CHECK: We have a classic case of random, scattered showers across Alabama this afternoon. There are few thunderstorms as well… otherwise we have a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures mainly in the 80s. Showers will fade late tonight.
More clouds than sun across Alabama today and through the weekend. The clouds will also produce with scattered showers and some rumbles of thunder the rest of today and into tonight. Highs today are in the mid 80s.
RADAR CHECK: Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are active this morning; some of the heaviest rain is falling over the northwest counties of the state along with other parts of the Tennessee Valley. Otherwise the sky is mostly cloudy with temperatures in the 60s and 70s.
RADAR CHECK: Most of Alabama is warm and dry this afternoon; we note a few very small isolated showers over the northern third of the state. Temperatures are in the 86-91 degree range. Showers could enter North and West Alabama tonight with the approach of a weak front.
