This week’s Guest WeatherBrain, Dr. Adam Houston, is a guest suggestion. He’s a professor of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Nebraska. He is also the director of TORUS (Targeted Observations by Radars and UAS of Supercells), where he quite literally flies in the face of storms, seeking the reasons some supercell thunderstorms generate tornadoes while others do not.
Anna Sims, from Atlas Forensic Meteorology, is our Guest WeatherBrain this week, while Sam Lane Gould (also from AFM) and Jim LaDue (NWS Warning Training Division instructor) are the guest panelists.

This week’s Guest WeatherBrain grew up in Rockford, Illinois. He graduated with a BS in meteorology from NIU, and started his career in broadcast meteorology in 1999. He eventually became the Chief Meteorologist at WREX-TV in his hometown of Rockford, Illinois. He has since entered the political arena and is now running for Congress in the state of Illinois.
