NWS Birmingham has removed the following counties in Central Alabama from the Severe Thunderstorm Watch as the threat for severe storms has passed: Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Lee, Macon, Pike, Russell.
At 802 PM CDT, Emergency Management reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
The spring 2021 football season was a series of working and waiting for the Alabama A&M Bulldogs. Time and again, the squad got ready for a scheduled game only to have that game postponed or canceled because of COVID-19.
Conditions are greatly improving north and west of the I-59 corridor as the rain has come to an end or beginning to end. However, severe storms continue to move through the extreme southeastern parts of the area with damaging wind gusts and torrential rainfall.
NWS Birmingham has removed the following counties in Central Alabama from the Tornado Watch as the threat for severe storms has passed: Montgomery, Tallapoosa.
At 722 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen.
At 720 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Guerryton to Goshen, moving southeast at 50 mph.
At 712 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen.
At 706 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Tuskegee National Forest to 6 miles north of Union Springs, moving east at 55 mph.
NWS Birmingham has removed the following counties in Central Alabama from the Tornado Watch as the threat for severe storms has passed: Autauga, Chilton, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Lowndes.
At 640 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles west of Goldville to Still Waters Resort to near Tysonville, moving east at 60 mph.
At 636 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Southern Lake Martin to Greenville, moving east at 40 mph.
NWS Birmingham has removed the following counties in Central Alabama from the Tornado Watch as the threat for severe weather has passed: Bibb, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa.
The Storm Prediction Center, along with NWS Birmingham, have issued a Severe T-Storm Watch effective immediately for the following counties in Central Alabama until 12:00 am: Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Lee, Macon, Pike, Russell.
