Very Nice But Cool Just After the Midday Hour

CURRENT CONDITIONS
Skies are continuing to clear out across Central Alabama as we are ending the noon hour. Some cloud cover remains over the western portions of the area but those will eventually dissipate.

TEMPERATURES
• Temperatures as of 12:40 pm were in the lower 50s to the lower 60s across the area.
• Eufaula was the warm spot at 62 degrees.
• Cullman was the cool spot at 50 degrees.
• Birmingham was at 57 degrees.

WEATHER FOR THE REST OF FRIDAY
As I said earlier, skies will continue to clear out and most will have sunny skies before sunset. It will be a little breezy at times making those afternoon highs in the upper 50s to the upper 60s feel a little cooler. We’ll have fair skies throughout the evening and overnight hours with temperatures falling from the lower 50s to the lower 60s around 6:00 pm to the mid-40s to the lower 50s by the late local news. Overnight lows will be in the upper 30s to the upper 40s.

SATURDAY’S WEATHER
A near picture-perfect day for the last day of October and for Halloween… We’ll have sunny skies and dry conditions throughout the entire day with afternoon highs reaching the mid-60s to the lower 70s. Temperatures will steadily fall throughout the evening and make it into the 50s across the area by 10:00 pm. Not too shabby for Trick-or-Treatin’.

THE TROPICS
Now with Zeta completely off of the map and no longer a tropical system, we do have a disturbance that we’ll have to watch over the Caribbean Sea. Here is the latest from the National Hurricane Center:

A tropical wave located over the eastern Caribbean Sea is producing a concentrated area of showers and thunderstorms. This system is gradually becoming better organized, and conditions appear conducive for further development. A tropical depression is likely to form this weekend or early next week as the system moves westward across the central and western Caribbean Sea. Regardless of development, this system is expected to produce heavy rainfall across portions of the ABC islands and Jamaica through the weekend.
