2 pm Update: Can’t Beat this May Weather

| May 16, 2021 @ 2:34 pm

May is typically a month of beautiful weather in Alabama. And there is no better example than what we are seeing today.

After a refreshingly cool morning, afternoon readings are warming toward the upper 70s and lower 80s in most locations. At 2 p.m., it was 81F at Tuscaloosa, 80F at Birmingham, and 79F at Anniston.

Patchy fog burned off and some scattered clouds moved across the landscape on this beautiful morning. Some very thin cirrus clouds have been moving across the area at very high altitudes, but they have done little to dull the blue skies.

A nice field of cumulus clouds has been developing over Northwest, North, and West Central Alabama, in the deeper moisture. Most other areas have generally clear skies.

Lows tonight will be in the middle 50s.
