New Day One Outlook from SPC; Watching Strong Storms Across Coosa/Tallapoosa Counties

| March 12, 2023 @ 8:22 am

The new Day One Severe Weather Outlook from the SPC is on track with our thinking.

There is a marginal risk (level 1 out of 5) across areas between Birmingham and Prattville.

There is a slight risk (level 2 out of 5) generally along and south of US-80.

A strong storm is across Tallapoosa and southeastern Coosa Counties at this time. It appears to have a bowing segment, indicating a higher probability of wind damage. It has had a broad rotation with it at times. NWS meteorologists are monitoring it carefully.
