Line of Storm Advancing Northeast

| May 5, 2024 @ 5:51 pm

A nearly solid line of thunderstorms has developed this afternoon across northeastern Alabama.

At 5:50 p.m., they extended from Jacksonville and Weaver in Calhoun County northwestward to the Arab/Albertville areas of Sand Mountain in Marshall County and the Decatur and Priceville areas in Morgan County. From there, they extended across Lawrence and Lauderdale counties in Northwest Alabama.

Heavy rain and embedded thunder cover much of Colbert, Franklin, and northwestern Marion County.

Other storms are over Chilton and Tallapoosa Counties from Clanton and Jemison over to Alexander City.

The storms aren’t severe, but they are packing a punch with brief heavy rain and lots of lightning and gusty winds.
