RADAR CHECK: Rain is falling over Southeast Alabama this afternoon, but most of the state is getting a break from the rain with generally cloudy conditions. Temperatures are mostly in the 60s, but Mobile has warmed into the mid 70s, where the sun is out.
RADAR CHECK: Rain is widespread across Alabama early this morning; temperatures are in the 50s in most places. Rain will taper off by midday, and we expect just a few isolated showers this afternoon and tonight. The sky will stay cloudy and the high today will be in the 60s.
RADAR CHECK: Rain is falling over the western half of Mississippi this afternoon; Alabama is still dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Rain moves into West Alabama by 7-8 p.m… and will spread eastward during the night.
STILL DRY TODAY: Temperatures are mostly in the 25-35 degree range across Alabama early this morning; we are forecasting a high in the 60-65 degree range this afternoon for most communities. The day will be dry with a partly sunny sky, but clouds will increase late in the day. Rain will move into West Alabama in the 8-9 p.m. time frame, then spreading eastward through the night.
RADAR CHECK: Thankfully severe thunderstorms were a no-show for Alabama overnight, no watches, no warnings. Just wind and rain; gradient winds gusted to 40 mph in spots as widespread rain covered the state.
RADAR CHECK: Light rain is falling this morning over much of North, Central, and Southwest Alabama… otherwise the sky is cloudy with temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Not a drought buster, but we will experience some badly needed rain across the Deep South today and over the weekend with periods of light rain.
RADAR CHECK: Rain is creeping into the northwest corner of Alabama this afternoon ahead of a cold front. Clouds continue to increase over the northern half of the state, while South Alabama is partly too mostly sunny. Showers are possible statewide tonight as the front pushes into the state.
RADAR CHECK: Light rain covers much of Alabama this afternoon. It isn’t reaching the ground in some spots, and rain amounts have been very light so far. Rain continues through the evening hours, then ending late tonight as the surface low (non-tropical) in the northern Gulf moves to the east.
RADAR CHECK: Rain is falling over the southern quarter of Alabama early this morning ahead of a surface low (non-tropical) over the northern Gulf of Mexico). This rain area will expand and move northward today, and by mid to late afternoon it will cover much of the state mainly along and south of I-59 (south of a line from Tuscaloosa to Birmingham to Gadsden).
RADAR CHECK: A persistent band of rain and storms is across Central Alabama this morning. Flash flood warnings are in effect for parts of Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Clay, Randolph, and Chambers counties where radar suggests some places have seen over 7 inches of rain over the past 36 hours. A flash flood watch remains in effect for the central counties of the state as well.
RADAR CHECK: Rain is widespread over the northern half of Alabama early this morning… that rain will shift southward during the day ahead of a cold front. SPC maintains a “slight risk” (level 2/5) of severe thunderstorms for the southern quarter of Alabama today, south of a line from Grove Hill to Greenville to Troy. A “marginal risk” (level 1/5) extends as far north as Sweetwater, Prattville, and Opelika.
PLEASANT MARCH AFTERNOON: As expected, temperatures are around 70 degrees this afternoon across Alabama with a partly to mostly sunny sky. Clouds thicken tonight ahead of a cold front.
RADAR CHECK: Rain is falling across much of Northwest and West-Central Alabama this afternoon, but to the south the sky is mostly sunny across the southern third of the state. We have a huge temperature spread, with readings ranging from the low 50s in the rain across Northwest Alabama, to the mid 80s at Mobile.
RADAR CHECK: We have scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms over the northern half of Alabama early this morning… rain will continue at times today and tonight, but no severe thunderstorms are expected. We do note the flash flood watch remains in effect for the Tennessee Valley.
