THIS AFTERNOON: The sky is mostly sunny over the northern half of Alabama this afternoon with temperatures in the 86-90 degree range. Clouds cover much of South Alabama, and some rain is falling over Mobile and Baldwin counties. Rain will be confined to far South Alabama tonight
ONE MORE MOSTLY DRY DAY: Most of Alabama will stay dry today with a partly sunny sky. Cloud coverage will be higher over the southern third of the state, and showers remain possible near the coast. Highs today will be in the 85-90 degree range for most communities.
DRY AUGUST AFTERNOON: Not a single shower across Alabama this afternoon with sunny sky; temperatures are in the upper 80s and low 90s. Tonight will be clear and pleasant with lows mostly in the 60s… some of the cooler spots over North Alabama could reach the upper 50s.
DRY PATTERN: Most of Alabama will be dry through the weekend with mostly sunny days and fair nights. Some spots across North Alabama could stay under 90 today, but highs will be in the 90s statewide tomorrow and Sunday.
RADAR CHECK: Most all of Alabama is rain-free this afternoon with a mostly sunny sky, but we do note a few small showers over Henry County in the southeast corner of the state. Those won’t last long; tonight will be mostly fair with a low in the 60s over the northern counties, with low 70s to the south.
Today will be another mostly sunny day with a high in the upper 80s over North Alabama, with low 90s to the south. Tomorrow Atlantic moisture will creep into the state from the east, and we will mention isolated showers statewide.

DRY AIR: An unusually dry airmass for August has settled into the Deep South today, seeing the stage for a mostly sunny day with low humidity. Highs will range from the upper 80s over North Alabama, to the low 90s over the southern half of the state.
DRIER AIR MOVING INTO THE DEEP SOUTH: A north wind is bringing in drier, continental air across Alabama and the Deep South this afternoon with lower dewpoints. The sky is partly to mostly sunny with temperatures in the 85-95 degree range.
Today, we are seeing plenty of sunshine with highs in the lower 90s. However, an air mass change for Alabama means we are in store for some terrific weather, especially for August, the rest of this week across Alabama.
AIRMASS CHANGE: A highly amplified upper air pattern over the U.S. will help to push much drier air into the Deep South today. This means dry weather for most of the week with lower humidity and cooler nights.
MOSTLY DRY TODAY: No rain across Alabama early this morning, and much of the state will be dry today with only isolated showers and storms this afternoon over the southern third of the state.
