I had a very touching visit today to Pleasant Grove Elementary. Many of the kids there have lost their homes, and are still sporting cuts and bruises from their wounds from the April 27 EF-4 tornado. Some told stories of being airborne in the tornado. Their art work I think best sums up their feelings…

Amazing story here… a suitcase (not a paper or book!) from Tuscaloosa was found by a family in the Virginia Mines community in western Jefferson County… the suitcase was aloft for almost 50 miles.

This video was taken by Lauren McCullough at Logan’s Roadhouse off Skyland on Friday 4/15. The NWS rated this tornado today an EF-3, due to the damage near the Black Warrior River around Maxwell Loop road.
