Watch GOES-S Launch Live Starting at 3:30 p.m.
NASA and NOAA are launching the new GOES-S satellite this afternoon from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
GOES-S is the second in a series of four advanced weather satellites in the series. GOES-R launched in November 2016 and is now operational as GOES-16.

The two-hour launch window opens at 4:02 p.m. CST. There is a 90% go weather forecast. Cumulus clouds pose the only potential weather issue.
