The Storm Prediction Center has posted a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the Tennessee Valley of North Alabama, parts of Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Missouri until 12:00 PM CDT. A cluster of strong and severe storms south of Springfield, Missouri will move southeast this morning across western Tennessee toward the northern edge of Alabama by midday. Another cluster of strong storms near Nashville this morning could also clip parts of northeast Alabama between 6 and 8 AM.

Hail, high winds, frequent lightning, and torrential downpours can be expected in the strongest storms.

Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, and Jackson Counties in Alabama are included in the watch area through noon, but the watch could be expanded as additional storms develop from late morning through the early part of the afternoon over the rest of North and Central Alabama.
