A Few Spot Reports From a Very Mean Sandy

| October 29, 2012 @ 10:00 am

…16 foot waves at the entrance to New York Harbor

…Data Buoy, south of Fire Island, 20 foot waves every 12 seconds, wind gusts 58 mph

…Boston Airport, gusts to 46 mph

…Newark gusts to 49 mph. I believe if not all, then most flights have been cancelled. The worst is yet to come.

…Tuesday-Wednesday will probably be the most tragic for the densely-populated Northeast. The center is still offshore but will probably move onshore on the New Jersey Coast tonight or early Tuesday. Much flash flooding inland, battering waves on the coast, very heavy snow well inland where the warmer tropic air meets and mixes with the much colder air that we are all feeling..

…Millions with be without power, perhaps for days on end.

…From our feedback, it appears that lots and lots of people here in the Southeast are interested in information from the Northeast and Mid Atlantic. We will post often over the next several days. Scroll down now for several greatly detailed posts!
