Tonight will be wet, with occasional rain. The air is cool and stable, so no severe weather, and probably no thunder. Even down in South Alabama the severe weather risk is small… just a “marginal risk” near the Gulf Coast this evening.

The rain will end from west to east tomorrow morning as the low pulls away, otherwise the day will be cloudy and cool with a high in the 60s. Rain totals will be in the 1/2 to 1 inch range.

Dry air returns Thursday with a good supply of sunshine and a high in the 72-75 degree range.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: No change in the forecast; it looks like delightful spring weather with sunny days, fair nights, and a warming trend. Expect low 70s Friday, upper 70s Saturday, and a high close to 80 degrees Sunday. Great weather for race weekend at Talladega.

AT THE BEACH: We expect dry weather tomorrow with a partly sunny sky and a high in the 70s… and the great weather continues through the weekend and into early next week with sunny days and fair nights. Highs on the immediate coast will stay in the 70s, and the sea water temperature at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab this afternoon is 72 degrees.

NEXT WEEK: Looks like we will enjoy warm, dry weather for the first half of the week with highs in the low to mid 80s Monday through Wednesday. No sign of any severe weather issues here for the next 7-10 days; see the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
