| May 15, 2015 @ 3:45 pm

RADAR CHECK: Showers and storms have been scattered across Alabama today; this afternoon the more numerous ones are over the southern counties… moving northeast…

THE WEEKEND: Not much change; a moist airmass will linger over Alabama tomorrow and Sunday. The sky will feature more clouds than sun, and on both days we will deal with scattered showers and storms. Like today, their location and timing will be pretty random, meaning we can’t give specific start/stop times for rain. If you will be at an outdoors event, just be ready for a passing shower or thunderstorm; the more numerous ones will come during the afternoon and evening hours, but we can’t rule out a late night or morning shower.

No “wash-out”, no severe weather threat, and the sun will peek out at times, much like today. Afternoon highs will be in the low to mid 80s. They will get the golf rounds in at the Regions Tradition at Shoal Creek, but a delay or two is possible if thunder is near the course.

We should mention tomorrow could bring a pretty significant severe weather setup to parts of the Great Plains…

NEXT WEEK: Showers and storms remain possible Monday, but drier air moves into the state Tuesday. We expect a good supply of sunshine Wednesday and Thursday… then some risk of showers will return late in the week on Friday. Highs will be mostly in the 80s; see the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.
