A cold front has brought some drier air once again into the northern half of Alabama providing the area with a nice Saturday as showers remain most likely across South Alabama. But the dry air does not last long as moisture returns Sunday along with unsettled weather which is forecast to extend well into next week. Highs today will be near 90, but those values retreat somewhat into next week with more clouds and showers.

An approaching cold front will help to enhance showers and thunderstorms today, but drier air over the Tennessee Valley on Saturday should suppress showers for Saturday. Moisture levels go back up Sunday and into next week as the weather pattern becomes more unsettled. Fortunately we are still expecting to see highs stay in the middle and upper 80s.

Moisture levels have returned as seen in dew points now well into the 60s, so showers become a risk today and into much of the week ahead. There may be a slight reduction in shower chances on Saturday, but there is not enough to support removing the mention of showers in the forecast completely. Highs expected to be in the 87 to 91 range.
