Splendid Spring Saturday

| May 7, 2016 @ 2:02 pm

Hard to find fault with the weather today as this first Saturday of May is just marvelous with lots of sunshine and blue sky and very few if any clouds in the Alabama sky this afternoon.

We have warmed well into the upper 70s and lower 80s through out Central Alabama.

TONIGHT: The sky will remain clear and temperatures will not be as cool. After 40s for many of us this morning, we are going to add about ten degrees to tonight’s lows, meaning mid and upper 50s, but still very nice!

ELSEWHERE ON THE MAPS: Several areas of active weather today, with the threat of severe weather in the Western and Central Plains , along with areas in the Ohio Valley.

These showers and storms are mainly associated with frontal boundaries in place. For us in the Southeast, a 1019mb area of high pressure was centered just off the Louisiana Coast early this afternoon and it continues to be the main feature impacting and providing this terrific weather all weekend.

MOTHER’S DAY: A near repeat of today, with the exception of warmer temperatures. The lower 80s from today, will be replaced with mid and even some upper 80s for some tomorrow. Still no threat of rain, and expect plenty of sunshine to highlight the day.
