RADAR CHECK: Most of the shower and thunderstorm activity has started to quiet down after the setting of the sun. Just a few showers left in Western Lamar and Northeastern Fayette counties. A few more isolated showers are located in Eastern Bibb, Eastern Shelby, Northern Calhoun, and Southeastern Cherokee Counties.

The strongest storm on radar is currently located across Southern Hale and West/Central Perry Counties. This storm is currently pushing to the south at 15 MPH. A Significant Weather Advisory is currently in effect for this storm until 8:15 PM. Half-inch size hail and wind gusts in excess of 40 MPH will be possible with this storm.

These showers and thunderstorms are along and ahead of a front, which is located near Muscle Shoals. Some of the convection may linger through the evening hours, but everything should be winding down by midnight. During the night, winds will shift out of the northwest after the front passes. Low clouds may hang around during the overnight hours, but should burn off quickly during the morning hours of tomorrow.
