* 13 spinoff tornadoes so far today blamed on Gustav from NW Florida to Louisiana.

* Officials estimate that 20% of the offshore oil rigs can be back in production by this weekend.

* 6 South Louisiana hospital patients died while being evacuated

* It appears that the Houma-Morgan City areas were among the hardest hit

* A couple was killed in Baton Rouge this afternoon when a giant tree came crashing through the roof of the house where they were staying. Ironically, they had evacuated to that house.

* Virtually all power out in Plaquemines and St. Mary Parishes as of 6 o’clock this evening. 87% of St. Bernard Parish without power and 79 percent St. Charles.
