Showers remain possible tonight with a generally cloudy sky.

TOMORROW THROUGH SUNDAY: Our weather will trend a little brighter and hotter as the upper low moves westward, away from us. Expect a mix of sun and clouds all three days, and while showers and storms remain possible, they should be a little more scattered in nature, and mostly during the afternoon and evening hours. The high tomorrow will be close to 90, with low 90s Saturday and Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: Typical August weather continues Monday and Tuesday, but we could see an increase in the number of showers and storms over the latter half of the week, with highs dropping back into the upper 80s as the upper ridge weakens. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

AT THE BEACH: While a flash flood watch remains in effect from Gulf Shores to Destin tonight, showers and storms will finally become fewer in number along the Gulf Coast from Panama City Beach to Gulf Shores by the weekend and early next week with increasing amounts of sunshine; the high will be in the upper 80s along the immediate coast, with low 90s inland. See a very detailed Gulf Coast forecast here.

TROPICS: The Atlantic basin remains very quiet, and tropical storm formation is not expected over the next five days. We note NOAA updated their hurricane season outlook earlier today…
