Notes from the Hurricane Zone…And a Cool Image
NOTES
Storm Chaser Darren Stephens reports from the Medical Center at Galveston…gust to 79 mph , sustained 70. Pressure at 958. Lights just went out. Time of report 8:40 p.m.
Surge will peak on the Southwest Louisiana coast around 2 a.m. Water may rise to 15-18 feet above normal at Sabine Pass and Cameron. Will be at peak for some 5-7 hours. Very concerned about Cameron.
Here is an image from FlightAware.com…showing the Hurricane Hunter plane…normally there would be dozens of flights coming and going over Southeast Texas…I did see a FedEx flight enroute to Memphis a little while ago. When it absolutely, positively has to…even in a hurricane.
