Front Setting Off Showers

| September 15, 2008 @ 3:00 pm | Reply

A cold front (make that a cool front) was pushing slowly across Alabama this afternoon. It had caused a long line of mostly light showers to form NE to SW across the state. Generally from Scottsboro in the NE, southwestward to near Birmingham and Demopolis.

Not very heavy.

Down south, however, thunderstorms have formed with considerable lightning. A line of storms (not solid) extended from about Phenix City southwestward to about Troy, Luverne and Andalusia.

Another line extending almost due north-south was from near Phenix City south right along the Alabama/Georgia border to North Florida

Almost all of those storms dumping plenty of rain.
